Glutathione
Physician-supervised compounded glutathione for antioxidant support.
Glutathione is a small tripeptide produced inside every cell. It plays a role in the body's endogenous antioxidant system. The Pep Club dispenses a compounded injectable preparation under U.S.-licensed physician supervision.
About this medication
Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide (gamma-glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine) synthesized in every cell of the body, with the highest concentrations in the liver. It plays a role in the cell's ability to neutralize reactive oxygen species, conjugate metabolic byproducts in the liver, and recycle other antioxidants such as vitamins C and E. The Pep Club dispenses a compounded injectable preparation of glutathione through a licensed compounding pharmacy under U.S.-licensed physician supervision. The preparation is offered as physician-supervised antioxidant support and is not a treatment for any specific disease. Outcomes are reviewed at each follow-up consultation.
How it works
Glutathione participates in several intracellular processes including donation of electrons to reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, conjugation to xenobiotics via glutathione S-transferase enzymes (supporting hepatic phase II metabolism), and regeneration of oxidized vitamins C and E. Levels can vary with diet, alcohol use, environmental exposures, age, and chronic stress. Supplementation aims to support intracellular GSH availability under physician supervision; outcomes are individual and cannot be guaranteed.
Clinical research context
Glutathione has been studied in laboratory and clinical-research settings for various endpoints. The compounded preparation dispensed by The Pep Club has not undergone equivalent finished-product efficacy testing for any specific indication. Your physician will discuss realistic expectations at consultation.

Frequently asked
Why a compounded injectable preparation instead of oral supplements?
Oral glutathione has limited bioavailability - much of it is broken down by digestive enzymes before reaching the bloodstream. The compounded injectable preparation bypasses the GI tract. The Pep Club dispenses this compounded preparation through a licensed compounding pharmacy under U.S.-licensed physician supervision.
How quickly will I notice anything?
Patient experience varies. Some patients describe a subjective change in energy or complexion in the first few weeks; others report no change. Glutathione is not a treatment for any specific disease and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Your physician will discuss realistic expectations at consultation.
